Hi be carfull on the soan river when we did it the locks where closed there was so much water we went over the weiers but dont do it as you get to leon as its twenty foot drop but the first two locks of the seine we went over the weiers we went canal de briar river de centre through montolemine big coalmining area came out on to soane at chalone sa soane all the best

Just one thing to say. . . Mutual support . . . . . If you’re sailing together then move at the pace of the slowest member. Getting separated between locks would not have helped had anything gone wrong. Otherwise great to watch, better when you’re all together.

My boat is a similar age. It is never a bad idea to epoxy coat your hull. From experience, it is damn hard work. You will not regret it.
